About the position

At USAA, we have an important mission: facilitating the financial security of millions of U.S. military members and their families. As a dedicated Instructional Designer Senior, you will partner with Fraud Operations business leaders to ensure that fraud learning requirements are developed and met. This role involves the creation and maintenance of new to role, upskill, and reinforcement education programs. You will serve as a fraud content subject matter expert to ensure that learning programs and initiatives comply with fraud policies and standards. Collaboration is key, as you will work with Fraud Operations leaders, fraud training leads, facilitators, and other business partners to support Fraud Training Program-based initiatives. This position can work remotely in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel. In this role, you will develop and implement strategic design initiatives and learning experiences that advance business goals while enhancing learning effectiveness and efficiencies. You will ensure alignment with Learning & Development (L&D) objectives, business strategy, and the USAA mission. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will act as a liaison between the Design team and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and adherence to project goals. Completing peer-to-peer reviews will be part of your responsibilities to ensure consistency, quality, and appropriate use of course content guidelines. You will also develop tools and processes to measure the effectiveness of curriculum solutions and learner performance to ensure that solutions meet employee skill development requirements. Building and maintaining strong relationships with third-party vendors will be essential, as you will act as the main point of contact for content management and enhancement-related matters. Additionally, you will synthesize analyses, identify root causes, and provide recommendations that influence business solutions. As a mentor and coach to peers and team members, you will set routines with software/service vendors to optimize third-party tools for design. Lastly, you will ensure that risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree OR 4 years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 6 years progressive work experience in complex instructional design projects.
  • Advanced knowledge and application of instructional design methodologies and multi-media development tools.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills, project management skills, multi-tasking, and project flexibility.
  • Ability to use communication and collaboration skills and instructional design technologies effectively.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with instructional authoring tools (i.e., Articulate Storyline 360) and other learning technologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3+ years of corporate training experience
  • 3+ years of creating Fraud Learning content
