About the position

As a dedicated Instructional Designer Senior at USAA, you will play a crucial role in partnering with Fraud Operations business leaders to ensure that fraud learning requirements are effectively developed and met. This position involves the creation and maintenance of educational programs tailored for new roles, upskilling, and reinforcement of knowledge. You will serve as a subject matter expert in fraud content, ensuring that all learning programs and initiatives comply with established fraud policies and standards. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with Fraud Operations leaders, fraud training leads, facilitators, and other business partners to support various initiatives within the Fraud Training Program. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic design initiatives and learning experiences that not only advance business goals but also enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of learning. You will ensure that all initiatives align with Learning & Development objectives, business strategy, and the overarching mission of USAA. Your role will require you to collaborate with cross-functional teams, acting as a liaison between the Design team and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and adherence to project goals. You will also conduct peer reviews to maintain consistency and quality in course content, develop tools and processes to measure the effectiveness of curriculum solutions, and maintain strong relationships with third-party vendors for content management. Additionally, you will synthesize analyses to identify root causes and provide recommendations that influence business solutions. As a mentor and coach, you will guide peers and team members in your area of responsibility, setting routines with software and service vendors to optimize third-party tools for design. It is essential to ensure that risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Fraud Operations business leaders to ensure fraud learning requirements are developed and met.
  • Create and maintain educational programs for new roles, upskilling, and reinforcement education.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in fraud content to ensure compliance with fraud policies and standards.
  • Collaborate with Fraud Operations leaders, fraud training leads, facilitators, and other business partners to support Fraud Training Program initiatives.
  • Develop and implement strategic design initiatives and learning experiences that align with business goals.
  • Ensure alignment with Learning & Development objectives and USAA mission.
  • Act as a liaison between the Design team and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and adherence to project goals.

  • Develop tools and processes to measure the effectiveness of curriculum solutions and learner performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree OR 4 years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 6 years of progressive work experience in complex instructional design projects, including advanced knowledge and application of instructional design methodologies and multimedia development tools.
  • Advanced skills in instructional design methodologies with the ability to translate these methodologies to the team.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills, project management skills, multi-tasking, and project flexibility.
  • Ability to effectively use communication and collaboration skills and instructional design technologies in the training environment.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with instructional authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline 360) and other learning technologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3+ years of corporate training experience
  • 3+ years of creating Fraud Learning content
  • 3+ years of Fraud Operations experience
  • US military experience through military service or as a military spouse/domestic partner.
