About the position

The Instructional Designer Specialist at myPlace Health is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing engaging learning experiences to enhance employee performance and ensure high-quality care delivery. This role involves collaboration with subject matter experts to create various training materials, including eLearning courses and instructor-led training, while utilizing instructional design models and technology to meet organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop engaging, interactive learning materials such as eLearning courses, videos, simulations, and assessments.
  • Create instructor-led training materials, including facilitator guides, participant materials, and presentations.
  • Design blended learning solutions that combine online and in-person learning experiences.
  • Work with subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify learning objectives, key content areas, and evaluation methods.
  • Create content that aligns with adult learning principles and instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM).
  • Assess the effectiveness of training programs through metrics such as learner engagement, knowledge retention, and performance improvement.
  • Gather feedback from learners and stakeholders to improve future learning interventions.
  • Utilize Relias, the learning management system (LMS), to manage, track, and report on learning initiatives.
  • Stay up to date with the latest instructional design tools and technologies, including authoring tools like Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, or similar.
  • Partner with The People Team and other departments to identify learning needs and ensure content alignment with business goals.
  • Present design concepts and course prototypes to stakeholders for review and approval.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with instructional design authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, or similar).
  • Familiarity with Relias learning management systems (LMS) and eLearning standards such as SCORM or xAPI.
  • Ability to analyze performance gaps and recommend learning solutions.
  • Knowledge of graphic design or video production tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE), and eLearning best practices.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with video production and editing.
  • Familiarity with hybrid training environments.
