The Instructional Designer will play a crucial role in the Technical Training Support group, focusing on the development and implementation of training curriculum and content for the Substation and Engineering sectors. This position involves utilizing instructional design and multimedia skills to analyze, design, develop, implement, evaluate, and maintain various training resources, including eLearning modules, facilitator guides, and job aids. The instructional designer will apply established instructional design theories, practices, and methods to create effective learning experiences that drive organizational learning and results. The role requires collaboration with internal customers to gather course content, working closely with Power Delivery Substation instructors and subject matter experts to ensure the training materials are accurate and relevant. The instructional designer will engage in curriculum planning and development, specifying learner outcomes, content design, and selecting appropriate instructional delivery formats and media. They will execute project plans, ensuring that all learning projects are delivered on time and within budget. The designer will also ensure that online materials comply with system requirements and accessibility standards, collaborating with various stakeholders to develop high-quality training materials. Additionally, the role involves maintaining course documentation and content, managing projects with minimal supervision, and advocating for continuous improvement in learning design and education practices. The position is based in either Birmingham, AL, or Stonecrest, GA, with a hybrid work schedule that requires in-office presence two days a week, although more days may be necessary depending on project needs. Travel for this position is expected to be less than 25%.
