About the position

The Instructional Designer for Technical Training at Thermo Fisher Scientific is responsible for conducting learning needs analysis and designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating learning solutions for the MSD field service organization. This role involves collaboration with various departments to create innovative learning materials and training programs that enhance the skills and competencies of employees, particularly in relation to Large Dual Beam products.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting learning needs analysis for the MSD field service organization.
  • Designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating learning solutions.
  • Leading projects or participating in project teams to deliver learning solutions on time and within budget.
  • Staying updated with technology related to Large Dual Beam Microscopes (LDB).
  • Conducting initial pilot training courses.
  • Collaborating closely with a senior instructional designer for validation of deliverables.
  • Handling ad hoc learning events in training labs or on-site at customer locations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, preferably with instructional design or educational qualifications.
  • 3+ years of technical background/experience related to high-tech concepts of electron microscopes.
  • Experience in instructional design or related fields.
  • Strong analytical and structured/creative problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in English, both verbally and in writing.

Nice-to-haves

  • LDB product knowledge.
  • Experience using different media to build engaging learning solutions, such as video and animations.
