The Instructional Designer (Temporary) will be a vital member of the Office of Learning Design and Technology at the University of Pennsylvania. This role requires a talented instructional designer who can effectively collaborate with faculty to create unique and impactful learning experiences. The designer will leverage the latest advancements in learning science and technology to foster engagement and promote rigorous learning outcomes. The position is focused on planning and executing highly engaging, scalable online courses that meet the standards of Penn Engineering. In this role, the Instructional Designer will work closely with faculty and the Associate Director to drive the learning design process. This includes guiding faculty through critical decisions on transforming their courses for online delivery. The designer will assist in various aspects of content development and provide project management support to ensure that all work adheres to established timelines and budgets. Collaboration with other Learning Design and Technology staff is essential, as the designer will build courses in platforms such as Canvas and Coursera, and conduct comprehensive quality assurance checks to prepare for successful course launches. After the launch, the designer will coordinate necessary corrections and revisions for future iterations of the courses.
