About the position

The Instructional Designer/Trainer will play a crucial role in the successful implementation of a new Warranty Service Management System (WSMS) at Youngsoft, Inc. This position focuses on developing and delivering effective training programs to ensure that all employees and stakeholders are well-equipped to utilize the new system. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in instructional design and training development to create engaging materials tailored to a diverse audience, ultimately driving system adoption and optimizing its use.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess training needs based on system functionalities and user roles.
  • Identify key knowledge gaps and determine the scope and format of training interventions required for various user groups.
  • Design and develop engaging, learner-centric training materials for the new WSMS, including eLearning modules, user manuals, quick reference guides, FAQs, and instructor-led training content.
  • Develop job aids, interactive tutorials, and video-based training resources to ensure diverse learning preferences.
  • Customize training content to meet the specific needs of different departments, such as customer service, technical support, and warranty claims teams.
  • Lead and facilitate training sessions for different user groups, including end-users, administrators, and support staff.
  • Use a variety of training delivery methods, including virtual workshops, in-person sessions, webinars, and hands-on exercises.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and support during training sessions to ensure understanding and confidence.
  • Work closely with the WSMS implementation team to understand system functionalities and ensure accurate, up-to-date training materials.
  • Provide feedback from training sessions to the implementation team for system refinements and enhancements.
  • Develop and deliver train-the-trainer programs to equip internal trainers with the necessary tools and knowledge.
  • Design and administer assessments to evaluate learner understanding and retention after training sessions.
  • Collect feedback from trainees and stakeholders to continuously improve the training materials and delivery methods.
  • Track progress and measure the effectiveness of training through key performance indicators (KPIs).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in instructional design, corporate training, or related roles, with a focus on software or systems training.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering training for complex software applications, particularly in warranty management, service management, or customer support settings.
  • Familiarity with Warranty Service Management Systems or similar enterprise-level systems is highly desirable.
  • Expertise in instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM, etc.).
  • Proficiency in eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Lectora) and learning management systems (LMS).
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills with the ability to engage audiences at different levels of technical proficiency.
  • Ability to analyze training needs and develop customized solutions that align with business goals.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with change management and user adoption strategies.
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices and working within Agile teams.
  • Experience in the service/warranty management industry or related fields.
