About the position

The Instructional Designer/Trainer position is a contract role focused on developing and delivering training materials for adult learners, particularly in the context of social services programs. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure the effectiveness of training materials and the successful delivery of training sessions in multiple formats.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop training materials for adult learners.
  • Research and evaluate NC FAST case management software to create effective learning materials.
  • Assist with scheduling and quality assurance checks on training materials.
  • Collaborate with training developers and subject matter experts to ensure training effectiveness.
  • Conduct business analysis and utilize MS Office Suite for training development.
  • Utilize Learning Management System (LMS) technology for instructional design.
  • Deliver computer-based training and design engaging learning programs.
  • Develop interactive instructional training materials using simulations.
  • Lead training sessions in various formats including in-person and virtual.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide recommendations for continued training participation.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in curriculum design and developing training materials for adult learners.
  • 3 years of experience understanding social services programs relevant to county, regional, and state staff.
  • 3 years of experience in business analysis and proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • 3 years of experience with Learning Management System (LMS) technology such as Moodle, XML, and HTML.
  • 3 years of experience in designing and delivering computer-based training.
  • 3 years of experience with software like Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Captivate, and Camtasia.
  • 3 years of experience developing dynamic instructional training materials.
  • 3 years of experience leading training sessions in various formats.
  • 3 years of experience evaluating student progress and providing feedback on training curriculum.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with basic application software and hardware support.
  • Strong understanding of internet concepts and web technology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
  • Knowledge of NC FAST and the Medicaid Program in NC.
