About the position

The Instructional Designer/Trainer at Temple University plays a vital role in developing educational materials for law enforcement professionals in Pennsylvania. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs that meet mandatory continuing education requirements. The role involves creating content for both in-person and online formats, utilizing various digital tools, and collaborating with a diverse team to ensure effective learning experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop educational materials for constables, sheriffs, and deputy sheriffs.
  • Implement and evaluate off-campus training programs for the Pennsylvania Commission and Crime and Delinquency (PCCD).
  • Provide instructional design support and advice on best practices.
  • Create media products for online courses, self-paced modules, and websites, including video and audio content.
  • Coordinate non-credit training content for diverse audiences.
  • Work collaboratively with the Non-Credit and Continuing Education team and familiarize with PCCD policies and stakeholders.
  • Support content delivery through in-person and digital platforms such as Zoom and Teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 or more years of directly related experience.
  • Technical experience with video and audio editing software.
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS), specifically Canvas.
  • Strong written and presentation skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Background working with criminal justice or government agencies.
  • Experience in a higher education setting, particularly in teaching.
