About the position

The Instructional Designer at UC Online is responsible for providing instructional design support for the development and enhancement of online courses. This role involves collaborating with faculty and subject matter experts to create engaging and effective online learning experiences, utilizing various technologies and instructional design principles. The position also includes assessing course effectiveness and integrating new educational technologies to improve student learning outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist faculty and subject matter experts in the development of online and technology-facilitated courses.
  • Present programs and conduct faculty training on new technologies and approaches for online learning.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to assist with course development and implementation.
  • Develop and support online courses according to established procedures and instructional design standards.
  • Assess the effectiveness of online courses and revise based on feedback.
  • Contribute to ongoing research and evaluation of online courses and programs.
  • Maintain open communication with business partners and stakeholders.
  • Research and integrate new educational technologies to enhance online learning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Two years of experience in course building or course design.
  • Six years of relevant work experience and/or specialized training can be used in lieu of the education requirement.
