About the position

The Instructional Designer for Urology at Boston Scientific is responsible for creating and implementing effective learning solutions for the urology sales organization. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to design engaging training materials and experiences that enhance the skills of field-based learners. The position requires a proactive individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to the evolving needs of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high-quality learning materials with clear performance-based objectives, including e-learning modules and instructor-led training materials.
  • Conduct needs assessments in partnership with Marketing, Sales, and Operations teams to identify learning objectives and performance gaps.
  • Create comprehensive learning curricula that align with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Design engaging and interactive learning experiences using various instructional strategies and technologies.
  • Use Articulate360 to develop digital content for the LMS/LXP and collaborate with the Learning Technologist.
  • Work collaboratively with STMs, Product Marketing, and other stakeholders on strategic projects and product training campaigns.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and quality assurance checks to ensure the effectiveness of learning materials.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
  • Develop evaluation strategies to measure the effectiveness of learning interventions.

Requirements

  • BA in Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Learning Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years instructional design, curriculum development, and technical writing experience.
  • Proficiency with Articulate Storyline (or similar e-learning authoring tools) and learning management systems (LMS).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft product suite (TEAMs, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design models (e.g. ADDIE, SAM), and learning theories.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation in learning design.
  • Ability to quickly grasp new terminology (i.e. medical terminology, sales terminology).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data analysis and evaluation methodologies.
  • Design Thinking or Agile Methodology.
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet.
