About the position

The Instructional Designer at Honeywell is responsible for the analysis, design, development, and evaluation of training materials across the organization. This role involves creating various types of learning programs, including online e-learning, virtual classrooms, and live instructor-led sessions. The designer will conduct needs analysis to identify learner and organizational needs, performance gaps, and changes in work processes. The position requires proficiency in training authoring and multimedia tools, as well as staying updated on training research and learning theories.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-depth needs analysis to uncover learner and organizational needs, identify performance gaps and changes in work processes, procedures and technologies
  • Work with subject matter experts to determine the best learning solution for the situation
  • Design and develop various types of learning programs and content (e-learning, classroom, webinars) using adult learning methodology
  • Act as project manager for implementation of learning solutions
  • Create test questions, activities, and exercises to measure the trainee's learning
  • Manage and populate training course data in learning management system

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 3 years experience as an instructional designer
  • Minimum 3 years experience and advanced proficiency using e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline and Adobe Captivate
  • US citizenship in order to obtain US Dept. of Energy 'Q' level security clearance

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, organizational development, education, communication or related field preferred
  • 3 years experience with learning management systems preferred
  • Prefer 3 years experience using graphics programs to create supporting graphics, photos, screen captures to illustrate learning points
  • Experience in conducting needs analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage instructional design projects
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office
  • Experience in manufacturing or technical business
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal, influence, collaboration and listening skills to interpret client needs and drive results
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
