About the position

The Instructional Designer at Republic Bank plays a crucial role in the Learning & Development department, aligning with the bank's mission, values, and culture. This position is designed to support various departments by acting as a resource, advisor, and consultant. The Instructional Designer will be responsible for creating e-learning and classroom materials that cover a wide range of topics, including sales, service, banking, technology, and both soft and hard skills. The goal is to ensure that all materials are linked to the company's objectives and values, fostering a culture of learning and development within the organization. In this role, the Instructional Designer will engage in several essential functions, including copyediting content for accuracy and consistency, designing interactive learning courses that promote engagement and understanding, and collaborating with managers and team members to establish project timelines. The designer will also maintain and enhance existing content to drive further engagement and will work closely with internal subject matter experts to conduct needs assessments and evaluate the effectiveness of the training delivered. Additionally, the Instructional Designer will support executive leadership by creating enhanced content for meetings and will champion a collaborative work environment that values diversity of thought. The position requires a strong understanding of compliance requirements and the ability to model and foster behaviors that align with the bank's values, creating an atmosphere of trust and accountability. The role may also involve performing other duties and projects as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop interactive learning courses that encourage engagement and understanding of delivered content.
  • Copyedit content for spelling, grammar, and consistency to ensure accuracy and brand consistency.
  • Collaborate with managers and team members to establish project timelines and deadlines for content delivery.
  • Maintain, update, and enhance existing content and designs to increase engagement.
  • Build associate engagement through communication and training strategies that provide relevant and engaging information.
  • Conduct needs assessments with internal subject matter experts to develop content and evaluate effectiveness post-delivery.
  • Support executive leadership by creating enhanced content for meetings with the Board of Directors.
  • Champion a collaborative work environment that encourages diversity of thought and creativity.
  • Benchmark best practices from other organizations and recommend changes as appropriate.
  • Stay informed about compliance requirements and assist in implementing new regulations as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience in learning design required.
  • Knowledge of e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Vyond, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, or similar software required.
  • Proficiency in SharePoint administration preferred.
  • Previous banking experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint) required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in developing training materials for financial services or banking sectors.
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Ability to utilize data analytics to assess training effectiveness.
