About the position

The Instructional Designer at Meriwest Credit Union is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing effective training programs that enhance employee performance and support organizational goals. This role involves creating comprehensive training materials and utilizing various methodologies to ensure employees are well-equipped to provide excellent member service and adapt to new products and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Create comprehensive lesson plans, objectives, and instructional materials.
• Develop engaging content using multimedia tools like Canva and Camtasia.
• Design and produce courses, curriculums, workshops, and presentations.
• Create content for various delivery methods, including instructor-led sessions, eLearning, and self-paced learning.
• Conduct needs assessments by collaborating with department heads and subject matter experts to identify training needs.
• Develop training programs aligned with the credit union's strategic initiatives.
• Ensure all content uploaded into the knowledgebase is accurate and up to date.
• Moderate the GP Q&A and ensure timely responses to questions.
• Responsible for course creation and content updates in the BVS system.
• Track all training hours completed and report monthly to Training Management.

Requirements

• Three to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
• Experience using content editing software such as Canva and Camtasia.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent oral/written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while being a team player.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in the application of adult learning principles and methods.
• Experience in the financial institution industry.
