About the position

OU Education Services (OUES) is a nonprofit organization established to manage and enhance online learning at the University of Oklahoma. The University of Oklahoma Board of Regents has authorized OUES to support the university in managing and delivering online programs and courses. This initiative aims to improve the university's capabilities to increase educational accessibility for a broader audience. The Instructional Designer plays a crucial role in this mission by collaborating with faculty subject matter experts to design and develop engaging, high-quality online courses. This position requires a deep understanding of instructional design principles and the ability to apply them effectively to create impactful learning experiences. In this role, the Instructional Designer will provide instructional design expertise to ensure that courses align with best practices and university standards. Key responsibilities include consulting with faculty on course design, which encompasses defining learning objectives, assessments, content sequencing, and instructional strategies. The designer will apply various instructional design models, learning theories, and multimedia techniques to create effective online learning experiences. Additionally, the Instructional Designer will manage individual course development projects from kickoff to implementation, which includes scoping, documentation, and scheduling. The position also involves assisting in program reviews and modifications as needed, administering LMS sub-accounts, and providing ongoing instructional support to faculty.
