About the position

The Instructional Designer (Learning Partner III) at Woodward is responsible for supporting the design, development, delivery, and governance of learning experiences and content. This role involves collaborating with subject matter experts to create scalable, high-quality learning programs, including eLearning courses, graphic illustrations, and on-the-job training materials. The Instructional Designer will work across various stakeholder groups to assess training needs and ensure adherence to instructional design principles, web accessibility, and inclusive learning experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business leaders to identify learning and development needs and develop effective, engaging, and accessible solutions.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality learning content, working with subject matter experts to design scalable programs that align with content governance standards.
  • Design blended and online learning experiences across multiple modalities, ensuring optimal integration into learning platforms and technologies.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs, making data-driven recommendations for improvements based on feedback and data analysis.
  • Provide support for global learning initiatives, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of learning processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Digital Learning, Digital Technology, Information Technology, Instructional Design or related fields; or 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Significant experience with eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Vyond, Camtasia, Snagit, Audacity, Auphonic, Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems, preferably Workday and Seertech.
  • Knowledge of user experience principles and instructional design models.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of conducting testing of eLearning courses for functionality and usability.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in creating multilingual, ADA-compliant learning experiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Experience in working in a global and matrixed organization.
  • Experience in technical or manufacturing instructional design.
