About the position

Telum Corporation is seeking experienced Instructional Designers to support a United States Department of Defense customer at Pope Army Airfield, NC. The role involves designing, developing, and organizing training content that meets the technical and operational needs of the customer. The Instructional Designer will collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Adult Education Specialists to create engaging and pedagogically sound training materials aligned with mission-critical objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop training content including lesson plans, practical exercises, and assessments.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure that all course content is accurate, relevant, and up-to-date.
  • Work with Adult Education Specialists to align course materials with best practices for adult education.
  • Develop and maintain online and in-person training materials integrated with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Create and refine blended learning modules combining virtual learning with in-residence instruction.
  • Design interactive training aids such as simulations and group projects to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Provide ongoing course maintenance and updates to ensure training materials remain relevant.
  • Collaborate with Instructors to equip them with instructional aids and assist in evaluating their teaching methods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of experience in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience designing and developing Levels 2 and 3 multimedia training solutions using Articulate Storyline that are 508 and SCORM compliant.
  • Experience with all phases of the ADDIE process.
  • Experience with Moodle and LMS Operations.
  • Proficiency in multimedia development tools and e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one, with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in a military training or defense contracting environment.
  • Familiarity with Tactical Data Links (TDLs) and Joint Interface Control Officer (JICO) operations.
  • Advanced degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or Curriculum Development.
