The Instructional Designer plays a crucial role in supporting all aspects of end-user education for assigned applications under the leadership of the HIT Instructional Design and Communication Manager. This position is responsible for collaborating with application analysts and users to create, maintain, and deliver engaging, accurate, and informative educational materials. The Instructional Designer will master assigned applications and their workflows, both technical and operational, to ensure effective training and knowledge transfer. Key responsibilities include the development, testing, validation, and maintenance of the Epic Training Environment or other training environments. The Instructional Designer will work closely with end users to create workflow-driven scenarios in training environments, such as realistic patient builds of dynamic data in Epic. Additionally, the role involves teaching Credentialed Trainers and super users who will assist with classroom training for end users, monitoring their adherence to course curriculum and overall system knowledge. The Instructional Designer will develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of technical and operational workflows to properly create training curriculum and related materials. This includes designing and developing modes of assessment, quizzes, exams, and other methods to measure effective knowledge transfer. Conducting training sessions for staff utilizing Epic and non-Epic applications is also a key responsibility, along with leading educational efforts stemming from software implementations, upgrades, and updates. Collaboration with application analysts is essential to develop accurate materials that consider the impacted end users' roles, ensuring effective education in advance of software implementations, updates, and new version releases. The Instructional Designer will provide support to end users during these transitions and document any project issues that arise. Participation in testing and workflow validation of assigned applications and modifications before implementation into training and production environments is also required. The role includes overseeing the implementation of online learning programs for assigned application areas, creating engaging and accurate learning activities with compelling course content, and maintaining fluency in the field of online learning and assigned applications to apply trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design. All classroom training and related materials must adhere to current Montage Health's policies and procedures, with a strong focus on customer service and responsiveness throughout the process.
