About the position

At Travel + Leisure Co., our mission is to put the world on vacation. The Instructional Designer (ISD) plays a crucial role in this mission by proactively reviewing training needs, presenting delivery media recommendations, and developing learning solutions to address performance gaps identified by our business partners. This position utilizes instructional design and performance improvement processes to analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate instructional materials and development programs. The ISD is responsible for creating a variety of deliverables, including instructor-led, blended, e-learning, and m-learning instructional curricula, as well as supporting job aids and other learning materials. This role also involves developing communication and reference materials and conducting Train the Trainer sessions for facilitators. The position is hybrid, requiring in-office work on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, with virtual work on Thursday and Friday. In this role, you will shine by designing multimedia courseware, managing multiple ISD projects, and ensuring alignment with Travel + Leisure Co.'s goals and priorities. You will also be responsible for designing, deploying, and reporting on post-course assessments, providing consultative support for the Learning Management System, and facilitating Train the Trainer sessions. This position requires a proactive approach to learning and development, with a focus on creating exceptional experiences for our associates and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively review training needs and present delivery media recommendations.
  • Develop learning solutions to address performance gaps identified by business partners.
  • Utilize instructional design and performance improvement processes to analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate instructional materials.
  • Create instructor-led, blended, e-learning, and m-learning instructional curricula and supporting job aids.
  • Design and develop course methods and facilitator/participant materials that integrate various learning approaches.
  • Manage multiple ISD projects supported by Subject Matter Experts and content reviewers.
  • Execute deliverables within established parameters of time and budget.
  • Design, deploy, and report on post-course assessments and make recommendations based on results.
  • Serve as an L&D SME and provide consultative support for the Learning Management System.
  • Facilitate Train the Trainer sessions for developed materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Learning & Development, Adult Learning, Business Management, or a related field with a virtual learning concentration.
  • 3+ years of experience in project management related to Training Content Development.
  • 3+ years of experience developing learning experiences.
  • 2+ years of hospitality industry experience.
  • Working knowledge of Instructional Systems Design (ISD) methodology and facilitation techniques.
  • Knowledge of classroom and e-learning instructional design, text, and video strategies.
  • Ability to communicate with individuals of varying backgrounds.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and technical procedures.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a time-sensitive environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Utilization and administration of SCORM compliant Learning Management Systems (i.e. Workday Learning).
  • Working knowledge of Courseware (eLearning) development software (i.e. Articulate Storyline).
  • Basic knowledge of the Adobe graphic software suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
