About the position

MARS Solutions Group is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to lead the modernization and consolidation of web-based courses for a government agency. This part-time role involves consulting with subject matter experts to enhance existing curriculum and prepare for migration to WorkDay Learning. The position requires strong instructional design skills and the ability to create engaging learning experiences.

Responsibilities

• Consult with subject matter experts and content owners to identify learning objectives and recommend learning solutions.
• Build effective relationships with subject matter experts and division leaders to gather content information and implement learning solutions.
• Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content specific to Adult Learning principles.
• Convert web-based Lectora courses to Articulate 360.
• Design e-Learning courses that engage the audience while achieving learning objectives.
• Devise modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, to measure course effectiveness.
• Visualize instructional graphics, user interface, and finished product.
• Analyze and apply trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design.
• Manage project requirements, schedules, and updates on milestones to ensure timely delivery.
• Make edits and enhancements to ensure content is up to date and maintains a modern look.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in designing and delivering web-based training.
• Strong knowledge of Instructional Systems Design (ISD) models and Adult Learning principles.
• Excellent writing and editing skills, with strong organization and communication abilities.
• Analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
• Ability to conduct front-end needs analysis and back-end learning evaluation.
• Highly skilled in consulting, project management, storyboarding, and script writing.
• Proficiency with content development tools including WorkDay Learning, Articulate 360, Lectora, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of Learning Management Systems.
