About the position

The Instructional Designer at Oregon Institute of Technology plays a crucial role in supporting faculty in the design and delivery of dynamic and collaborative online courses. This position focuses on ensuring course quality and facilitating assessment activities while also engaging in professional development and research of new technologies and best practices in instructional design.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instructional design and training services to faculty.
  • Support the design of dynamic and collaborative online courses.
  • Ensure course quality and completion of assessment activities.
  • Facilitate research of new technologies and best practices.
  • Participate in professional development activities.
  • Engage with the campus community and support institutional initiatives related to educational pedagogy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education, or a related field.
  • One year of experience with a Learning Management System (LMS) such as Blackboard or Canvas.
  • Two years of experience with multimedia applications such as Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, or Adobe Captivate.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences using various methods.
  • Experience with word processing, email, and spreadsheet software.
  • Experience with internet browsers and effective internet utilization.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education, or a related field.
  • Three or more years of experience in instructional design, LMS support, curriculum design, or instructional technology.
  • Continued work and certification with Quality Matters or Online Learning Consortium.
  • Experience providing design advice to support ADA requirements.
  • Knowledge of HTML5 or Web Development Environment.
