About the position

The Instructional Designer will be responsible for creating in-person and online training content to support organizational initiatives and business units within the Division of Health Benefits. This role requires strong instructional design and technical knowledge, as well as the ability to develop training materials for adult learners, particularly in the context of Medicaid programs. The position supports live virtual meetings and events, necessitating excellent presentation and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Create in-person and online training content to support organizational initiatives and business units.
• Develop training materials for adult learners, focusing on Medicaid programs.
• Facilitate and support live virtual meetings and events.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop curriculums and training materials.
• Create resources to support employee learning, such as tips, job aids, and templates.
• Ensure timely delivery of training materials and adherence to required timelines.

Requirements

• Experience in curriculum design and developing training materials for adult learners (3 years required).
• Strong content development skills (3 years required).
• Instructional design and technical knowledge (5 years required).
• Experience with Adobe Articulate 360 (3 years required).
• Experience with adult learning practices, principles, and procedures in classroom and online presentations (3 years required).
• Strong presentation, communication, and collaboration skills (3 years required).

Nice-to-haves

• Understanding of the NC Medicaid Program (3 years preferred).
• Experience with SharePoint page administration.
• Experience developing curriculums or training in partnership with subject matter experts.
• Experience creating training videos and microlearning.
• Use of voiceover tools.
