About the position

As an Instructional Designer at Swinerton, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of both synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences. Your primary responsibility will be to create dynamic, interactive, and engaging learning solutions that effectively drive skill development across our organization. You will apply various Instructional Design models to develop effective learning solutions aimed at closing skill gaps within the workforce. In collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Talent Partners, you will convert complex technical content into interactive learning experiences that cater to diverse learner needs and styles. Utilizing a range of tools such as Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, Articulate 360, and emerging technologies like AR and VR, you will create simulations, gamified learning experiences, and hands-on learning content. Additionally, you will curate external content to complement the in-house developed materials, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience for all employees. You will also partner with the Learning Business Partner to implement robust evaluation methods to assess the effectiveness of learning programs, collecting and analyzing data to measure learner engagement, retention, and performance. Furthermore, you will work closely with the Learning Systems Manager to ensure that all designed content is easily accessible across various devices. Other responsibilities may include providing backup for Learning Management System Administration and Microsoft SharePoint and Teams Administration, as well as completing additional tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Apply Instructional Design models to design effective learning solutions that help close skill gaps.
  • Partner with SMEs and Talent Partners to convert technical content into interactive and engaging learning experiences tailored to diverse learner needs and styles.
  • Utilize tools like video, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, Articulate 360, AR and VR technologies, and AI-based platforms to create simulations, gamified learning, hands-on learning experiences, and other interactive content.
  • Curate external content as an alternative or to complement content developed in-house.
  • Partner with Learning Business Partner to implement robust evaluation methods to assess the effectiveness of learning programs and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collect and analyze data to measure learner engagement, retention, and performance.
  • Ensure that designed content is easily accessible or able to be enrolled in or assigned to on any device.
  • Provide backup Learning Management System Administration, Microsoft SharePoint and Teams Administration.
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in instructional design, both synchronous and asynchronous.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience demonstrating proficiency in designing learning content with Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, Articulate 360, and video production.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience designing interactive learning content and simulations or gamified experiences with AI/AR/VR applications.
