Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates institutional knowledge of clinical/financial systems
  • Troubleshoots system issues
  • Develops user manuals, policies/procedures and reference materials that are clinically relevant
  • Designs, develops, implements and assesses informatics skill based learning for clinicians and staff
  • Works with administrative departments and IT security to enable applications for user provisioning
  • Designs, develops and updates clinical training curriculum including classroom, individual, and computer based modules
  • Supports design, coordination and delivery of new hire training programs
  • Sets up and populates electronic training environment
  • Participates in system testing for new functionality and system upgrades
  • Demonstrates knowledge of adult education principles
  • Conducts needs assessments, program evaluations and end user proficiency tests
  • Prepares class rosters
  • Maintains associated record keeping documents
  • Proactively maintains and develops continuously updated training materials for various training sessions
  • Conducts classroom style training for users
  • Conducts one-on-one training sessions with users as needed
  • Observes users in their environment to identify areas for improvement and suggestions for workflow redesign
  • Maintains knowledge of Cooper's standard configurations and clinic specific templates and customization
  • Provides onsite training and issue resolution support at all locations
  • Serves as resource to helpdesk staff in ticket resolution
  • Provides user interface support for new EHR implementations
  • Assists with coordinating requests by end user for system modifications and enhancements
  • Maintains an issue knowledgebase to document specific training issues related to the application
  • Works with minimal supervision and maximum accountability
  • Demonstrates exceptional communication abilities both orally and in writing with all levels of clinical, administrative, and support staff
  • Understands various training techniques for users with various learning styles
  • Customizes and configures Clinical systems to support clinic workflow and clinical best practices
  • Evaluates and analyzes Clinical systems features and functionality for problem resolution
  • Demonstrates excellent written, analytical, and verbal communication skills
  • Maintains a flexible schedule that will include some evening and weekend hours
  • Documents workflow design and identifies areas for improvement
  • Knowledge of industry best practices related to patient flow
  • Demonstrates strong skills with industry standard tools related to training
  • Performs other duties within the scope of this position as assigned
  • Demonstrates requirements gathering skills
  • Serves as a liaison between end users, subject matter experts and technical support
  • Develops and maintains all policy and procedure related documentation
  • Participates as IT representative on committees and task forces as needed
  • Performs on-call duties as assigned
  • Demonstrates sound and logical problem-solving abilities
  • Self-motivated to identify and resolve issues, and in advancing personal knowledge

Requirements

  • 3 years' experience in training, Information Technology, Healthcare Operations, or 1 to 2 years as super user or trainer for EMR/EHR deployments

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelors preferred
  • Epic certified or credentialed in one or more of the following clinical applications: Ambulatory, Inpatient, ASAP, Optime, Anesthesia, or Radiant
