The Instructional Designer (Instructional Systems Designer/ISD) plays a crucial role in this mission by proactively reviewing training needs, presenting delivery media recommendations, and developing learning solutions to address performance gaps identified by our business partners. This position is essential in assisting in the development of our associates, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide exceptional service to our customers. The ISD utilizes instructional design and performance improvement processes to analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate instructional materials and development programs. The deliverables for this role include a variety of instructional formats such as instructor-led training, blended learning, e-learning, and m-learning curricula, along with supporting job aids and other learning materials. Additionally, the ISD will create communication and reference materials and conduct Train the Trainer sessions for facilitators. This hybrid position requires in-office work on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, with virtual work on Thursday and Friday. In this role, you will shine by designing multimedia courseware that meets the needs of Travel + Leisure Co.'s internal business clients, including Resort Operations and Corporate HR. You will develop course methods and materials that integrate various instructional approaches, ensuring that training is engaging and effective. Project management is a key aspect of this position, as you will manage multiple ISD projects supported by various Subject Matter Experts and content reviewers, executing deliverables within established time and budget parameters. Measurement and reporting are also critical, as you will design and deploy post-course assessments and provide actionable recommendations based on the results. As a facilitator, you will lead Train the Trainer sessions, ensuring that the materials developed are effectively communicated and understood by facilitators.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively review training needs and present delivery media recommendations.
  • Develop learning solutions to address performance gaps identified by business partners.
  • Utilize instructional design and performance improvement processes to analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate instructional materials.
  • Create instructor-led, blended, e-learning, and m-learning instructional curricula and supporting job aids.
  • Design and develop course methods and facilitator/participant materials that integrate various instructional approaches.
  • Manage multiple ISD projects supported by Subject Matter Experts and content reviewers.
  • Execute deliverables within established time and budget parameters.
  • Design, deploy, and report on post-course assessments, making recommendations based on results.
  • Serve as a Learning & Development Subject Matter Expert and provide consultative support for the Learning Management System.
  • Facilitate Train the Trainer sessions for the materials developed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Learning & Development, Adult Learning, Business Management, or a related field with a virtual learning concentration.
  • 3+ years of experience with basic project management skills related to Training Content Development.
  • 3+ years of experience developing learning experiences.
  • 2+ years of hospitality industry experience.
  • Working knowledge of Instructional Systems Design (ISD) methodology and facilitation techniques.
  • Knowledge of classroom and e-learning instructional design, text, and video treatments/strategies.
  • Knowledge of techniques for the evaluation of learning.
  • Ability to communicate with individuals of varying backgrounds.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or technical procedures.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a time-sensitive environment.
  • PC skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Knowledge of remote meeting software (Zoom, MS Teams).

Nice-to-haves

  • Utilization and administration of SCORM compliant Learning Management Systems (i.e. Workday Learning).
  • Working knowledge of Courseware (eLearning) development software (i.e. Articulate Storyline).
  • Basic knowledge of the Adobe graphic software suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
