About the position

As an Instructional Designer at Yum! Brands, you will play a crucial role in the needs analysis, design, development, and evaluation of training programs across various modalities. This includes online, virtual instructor-led, and in-person learning experiences. Your responsibilities will encompass creating leader materials, simulations, paper-based training materials, engagement components, workshops, and assessments to support various KFC-US product, people development, process, or system initiatives. You will be expected to drive a focus on building people capability through innovative and creative training solutions while gaining alignment with cross-functional partners. In this role, you will manage multiple projects, ensuring that all training initiatives are delivered on time and within budget. You will leverage the ADDIE model to create comprehensive training project plans, track key milestones, and manage training budgets. Your ability to influence training strategy and collaborate with cross-functional partners will be essential to your success. You will also be responsible for designing and developing large-scale learning solutions that utilize various approaches, including eLearning, gamification, and micro-learning. By employing storytelling techniques, you will enhance learner engagement and retention. Additionally, you will evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives, using data to measure and improve training delivery processes. As an instructional design expert, you will challenge the status quo and continuously seek ways to improve training design and efficiency. Staying updated on industry trends and innovations will be key to your role, as will your ability to educate cross-functional partners on training roles and accountabilities. Your contributions will significantly impact the KFC system and its training programs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct needs analysis to identify training requirements and gaps.
  • Design and develop training solutions using the ADDIE model.
  • Manage multiple training projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to align on training strategies and objectives.
  • Create and manage full-cycle training project plans, tracking milestones and budgets.
  • Leverage various modalities for training delivery, including eLearning and in-person workshops.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives and implement improvements based on data.
  • Serve as an instructional design expert, providing creative solutions and insights.
  • Stay updated on learning industry trends and innovations to enhance training effectiveness.
  • Consult with cross-functional partners to elevate the effectiveness of their training solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Adult Learning, Communications, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a related training role.
  • Strong understanding of the ADDIE model and adult learning theories.
  • Proficiency in learning development software and content management systems.
  • Experience in full-scale learning curriculum design and execution.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with gamification and micro-learning techniques.
