About the position

The Instructional Designer at Lee College plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of course delivery across various formats, including face-to-face, online, streaming, Hy-Flex, and hybrid methodologies. This position involves collaboration with faculty and administrative teams to provide training, coaching, and support in the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of instructional materials and courses. The designer will also engage in professional development and research to stay updated on trends in educational technology and instructional design.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with faculty to enhance courses in various formats.
  • Provide hands-on instruction for faculty in developing course materials and interactive activities.
  • Work with divisions to improve their online presence with quality courses.
  • Train faculty in course design and online instruction, mentoring them in the use of LMS.
  • Assist in providing workshops on active learning techniques.
  • Implement faculty and staff development programming to support campus goals.
  • Foster partnerships with academic units and faculty leaders in course design.
  • Design and conduct faculty development programs, including workshops and seminars.
  • Engage in professional development and research on educational technology.
  • Conduct live and online training for faculty and staff on various educational topics.
  • Develop and facilitate Blackboard training for faculty and students.
  • Facilitate online certification courses for faculty.
  • Support assessment training and data collection.
  • Evaluate the efficacy of utilizing Artificial Intelligence in Teaching and Learning.
  • Ensure content accessibility in compliance with relevant standards.

Requirements

  • Master's (or higher) degree
  • Three (3) years of instructional design or experience with faculty
  • Proficiency with learning management systems
  • Knowledge of accessibility compliance standards and Universal Design principles
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Experience working with diverse populations
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

  • Quality Matters certified Peer Reviewer
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence in Instruction
  • Experience in developing course modules using virtual reality technology
