As an Instructional Designer at Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the learning experiences of our students. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with subject matter experts and cross-departmental partners to design, develop, and deliver high-quality online learning experiences that are both technically complex and scalable. This position requires a keen understanding of instructional design principles and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring that all deliverables meet the specifications of the degree program and adhere to institutional standards for quality and effectiveness. In this role, you will engage in the entire learning design process, from initial concept through to delivery. You will be responsible for creating valid assessments that accurately measure student learning outcomes, utilizing backward design methodology to ensure alignment with course objectives. Your expertise will also be essential in conducting quality assurance reviews and utilizing data-informed assessments to identify areas for improvement in instructional clarity and engagement. You will independently manage project timelines and resources, driving efficiencies in instructional design efforts while applying current learning theories and technologies to enhance the learning experience. Additionally, you will oversee the production of multimedia elements for learning experiences, including scoping, conceptualizing, scripting, and quality reviewing these assets. Your recommendations for adjustments to learning experiences will be informed by performance data, quality review feedback, and input from both instructors and students. You will also be expected to follow established standards for learning experience build specifications within the Learning Management System (LMS) and to experiment with new standards in collaboration with LMS experts. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Learning Design and is part of a remote-friendly work environment, allowing you to work from various approved states across the country.
