About the position

The Instructional Designer at Arkansas Tech University will collaborate with faculty and staff to design, develop, and deliver technology-based educational media and interactive learning experiences. This role focuses on supporting quality distance education courses and involves managing projects, mentoring faculty, and conducting training sessions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with faculty and staff to support course development through training and quality assurance of online courses.
• Manage both individual and group projects and mentor faculty on distance learning methods and technology use.
• Provide online tutorials and conduct training sessions for instructors.
• Coordinate course development and administrative tasks, assist in project prioritization, and fulfill duties assigned by Academic Affairs.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited institution with a minimum of a Master's degree in instructional design or related discipline.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of current online course development practices, including course management systems, cloud computing, social media, productivity tools, multimedia software, web development, and curriculum design for distance learning.
• Ability to plan, manage, produce, direct, implement, and evaluate online course production.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Proficient with learning management systems and have experience creating instructional media and providing online and face-to-face training.
• Knowledgeable in learning technologies, learning theory, and instructional design.
• Taught online within the past three years and remain current with evolving technologies and innovations.
