About the position

Clemson University's Curriculum Delivery Team is seeking a passionate and experienced Instructional Designer to create, deliver, and oversee educational materials for the implementation of the new Workday@Clemson ERP system. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the training content is not only high-quality but also innovative, engaging, and effective in promoting learner adoption across the university. The Instructional Designer will collaborate closely with staff, faculty, and subject matter experts to develop content that meets the diverse needs of learners and aligns with the university's educational goals. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of instructional design models that yield measurable results, such as increased employee engagement and improved retention rates. They will be responsible for incorporating instructional design principles and theories, as well as researching and implementing new technologies to maximize learning outcomes. The role requires the creation of immersive and collaborative learning environments that capture the attention of target audiences and help them achieve their developmental goals. In addition to developing original learning materials, including courses, training sessions, job aids, and technical guides, the Instructional Designer will assess learner progress by revisiting objectives and needs analyses. They will maintain project documentation, evaluate existing instructional content, and ensure that all materials are up-to-date and relevant. The position also involves other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the Curriculum Delivery Team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of high-quality and innovative training content related to the implementation of Workday@Clemson and other business transformation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with staff, faculty, and subject matter experts to develop content that promotes learner engagement and adoption across Clemson.
  • Possess an in-depth understanding of instructional design models that produce impactful, measurable results, such as increased employee engagement and improved retention.
  • Incorporate instructional design principles and theories and research and implement new technologies into instruction to maximize learning.
  • Create and foster immersive, collaborative, and productive learning environments and educational experiences for target audiences that capture their attention and helps meet their development end goals.
  • Develop cohesive, relevant curriculum partnering with organizational leaders.
  • Create original learning materials, including courses, training sessions, job aids, technical guides, etc. and distribute these key learning materials to the audience.
  • Assess learner progress by revisiting objectives and needs analyses and aligning the content with the campus partner's needs.
  • Maintain projects and course documents and evaluate existing instructional content and keep up to date.

Requirements

  • Experience in instructional design and development of training materials.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in using instructional design tools such as Microsoft Office, Camtasia, Articulate Storyline, or Articulate Rise.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Ability to analyze data and metrics to measure learning outcomes and identify areas for enhancement.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ERP systems, particularly Workday.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and Universal Design for Learning principles.
  • Knowledge of emerging trends in training and development, pedagogy, and instructional design tools.
