About the position

The Instructional Designer will be responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, and evaluating training to improve organizational effectiveness using a variety of training tools and techniques. This position will create training that addresses organizational performance and learning needs of Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation. This includes the onboarding training program for all new hires, skill enhancement/improvements courses to drive continuous education and learning, system/technical training, and management fundamentals. This role will require a strong level of project management skills and tools to successfully manage multiple projects that may have competing priorities. Additionally, the Instructional Designer will build strong working relationships with team members and management to develop training and provide ongoing support. This includes building a strong partnership with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation to effectively develop training content that meets the learning objectives outlined. The Instructional Designer will perform needs analysis and suggest instructional approaches, estimate timelines and resources, design and develop courses, and administer production, quality control, and implementations. They will design courses using adult learning principles and integrate interactive concepts and activities in both instructor-led and distance formats to encourage knowledge application, retention, and skill development. Ensuring that training deliverables are developed with high quality and within efficient timelines is crucial. The role also involves identifying training requirements by conferring with the training team, managers, and employees, and resolving issues to determine creative solutions and training methods based on organizational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, develop, and evaluate training programs to improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Create onboarding training programs for new hires and skill enhancement courses for continuous education.
  • Manage multiple training projects with competing priorities using strong project management skills.
  • Build strong working relationships with team members and management to develop training content.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure training meets learning objectives.
  • Perform needs analysis and suggest instructional approaches, estimating timelines and resources.
  • Design courses using adult learning principles and integrate interactive concepts and activities.
  • Ensure high-quality training deliverables are developed within efficient timelines.
  • Identify training requirements by conferring with the training team, managers, and employees.
  • Resolve issues and determine creative solutions and training methods based on organizational needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Instructional Design/Training.
  • Minimum three (3) to eight (8) years of experience developing courseware and self-paced training.
  • Strong understanding of evidence-based education, cognitive learning theory, and instructional design.
  • Experience with rapid development tools such as Articulate Studio, Storyline, Captivate, Camtasia, and Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and other PC applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the auto finance or financial services industry preferred.
  • Certification in Adobe eLearning Suite or equivalent instructional design tool preferred.
