About the position

The Instructional Designer at AMD will play a crucial role in developing online training modules and materials for both internal and external clients. This position involves collaborating across various business segments to create engaging and effective learning experiences that align with business objectives. The role requires strong project management skills and a passion for adult learning, ensuring that all training materials are up-to-date and measurable in terms of effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and build engaging, informative, and visually compelling learning materials: eLearning modules, curriculum plans, job aides and other materials.
  • Define and document learning objectives and content in accordance with business objectives and needs.
  • Conduct research and collaborate with content owners (SMEs) to secure product messaging, demos, selling details, and features.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on the development of content for salespeople and partners.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules including content creation SLA timelines, legal approvals, localization, and with creative teams.
  • Build online learning modules and learning assessments using authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Suite and Camtasia.
  • Act as a learning consultant to understand the business' needs around learning and help connect learning strategies.
  • Ensure all training and job aid materials are consistent, up-to-date and in line with products and larger training goals.
  • Support the creation of standardized metrics and evaluation processes across training.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in instructional design, curriculum/courseware development.
  • Proficiency in eLearning technologies: Articulate 360 suite and Microsoft Office software.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop and InDesign preferred.
  • Expertise in needs assessment design for various delivery options and evaluation strategy.
  • Proven understanding of adult learning and instructional design theory.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Demonstrated messaging and editing skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of the semiconductor industry.
  • Interest in continuous improvement and dedication to maintaining skills.
  • Audio and video editing skills preferred.
