About the position

The Instructional Designer position at EPIC Health System LLC is a full-time role based in Southfield, MI, aimed at creating engaging and effective training programs tailored for various roles within the organization. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in Articulate 360 to design and develop interactive e-learning courses that meet the needs of the organization. This position requires a deep understanding of instructional design principles, particularly the ADDIE model, and proficiency with e-learning authoring tools. The ideal candidate will have a passion for crafting innovative learning solutions that enhance the learning experience for employees. In this role, the Instructional Designer will apply the ADDIE model, which includes Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation, to create instructional materials and learning experiences. They will collaborate closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather and analyze content, ensuring that the training materials are accurate and relevant. The designer will also manage multiple instructional design projects concurrently, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards. Conducting needs assessments and gap analyses to identify learning objectives and performance outcomes will be a key part of the job, as will creating and maintaining project documentation such as design documents, storyboards, and course outlines. The Instructional Designer will work closely with the training team, SMEs, and other stakeholders to ensure that all training initiatives align with the organization's goals and objectives. This role is critical in fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the organization, ultimately contributing to the overall success of EPIC Health System LLC.

Responsibilities

  • Apply the ADDIE model to create instructional materials and learning experiences.
  • Design and develop interactive e-learning courses using Articulate 360, including Storyline and Rise.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather and analyze content, ensuring accuracy and relevance of training materials.
  • Manage multiple instructional design projects concurrently, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Conduct needs assessments and gap analyses to identify learning objectives and performance outcomes.
  • Create and maintain project documentation, including design documents, storyboards, and course outlines.
  • Work closely with the training team, SMEs, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Adult Learning Technologies, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Articulate 360, including Storyline and Rise.
  • Strong understanding of the ADDIE model and other instructional design frameworks.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and SCORM/AICC standards.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the healthcare or related industry.
  • Certification in instructional design or e-learning development.
  • Familiarity with other e-learning authoring tools and multimedia software.
  • Familiar with Moodle LMS system.
