About the position

The Instructional Designer at PosiGen is responsible for designing and developing instructional materials that ensure high-quality learning experiences. This role involves collaborating with Subject Matter Experts to create engaging and interactive learning content, utilizing adult learning theory and best practices. The Instructional Designer manages multiple projects, focusing on the development of online, virtual, and in-person training courses, contributing significantly to the growth and development of learners.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and updates curriculum, courses, and instructional materials consistent with adult learning theory.
  • Confirms course objectives are current and reflected in newly developed courses.
  • Creates interactive and engaging learning experiences, curriculum, and course content, including learning activities, assignments, and assessments.
  • Develops instructors and facilitation manuals; coaches trainers on effective deployment of learning exercises.
  • Keeps current on best practices in instructional design.
  • Assists subject matter experts in defining course outcomes and objectives.
  • Designs and develops engaging, interactive, and instructionally sound materials that address various learning styles.
  • Produces learning materials in various formats, including print, graphics, audio, video, and multimedia.
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts and team members to solve technological challenges.
  • Ensures courses developed are compatible with the Learning Management System.
  • Leverages existing tools and resources to maximize course effectiveness and quality.
  • Stays current with new technologies and applications for course design.
  • Completes professional development to keep up with changes in technology and higher education.
  • Ensures all training programs have clear objectives and assessable learning outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, education, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in an Instructional Design role.
  • Proven working experience in instructional design and knowledge of adult learning theory and models.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to prioritize multiple deadlines.
  • Experience with e-learning platforms such as Captivate and Articulate, and proficiency in Canva.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Instructional Design within a Residential Solar Company.
  • 3+ years of experience developing Safety training.
  • 2-3 years of experience leading or working as part of an Instructional Design Team.
