About the position

The Instructional Designer at Goodwin University plays a crucial role in enhancing the educational experience by providing pedagogical support and technology integration for faculty. This position focuses on developing online courses and materials that foster student engagement, success, and retention, particularly for a diverse student body. The designer collaborates with various departments to innovate and improve online learning methodologies, ensuring compliance with educational standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and investigate new and existing learning techniques and products.
• Analyze educational technology trends and report on innovations in online learning delivery.
• Collaborate with academic departments to develop and deliver new online degree programs.
• Serve as an in-house expert on instructional design methodologies and innovations.
• Evaluate instructional methodologies and technologies for continuous improvement in online learning.
• Coordinate and implement modifications of online education guidelines with faculty.
• Write effective instructional text, audio scripts, and video scripts.
• Work with faculty and Subject Matter Experts to develop new course materials.

Requirements

• Master's degree in instructional/educational technology or related field.
• 2+ years of Instructional Design experience.
• Experience developing and supporting online degree programs.
• Experience administering Canvas or another LMS.
• Knowledge of educational technologies for online learning.
• Knowledge of online teaching and learning best practices and theories.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
