About the position

FRDA, LLC is seeking an Instructional Designer to join our team in Fayetteville, NC. This position is contingent upon successful award and subsequent funding. As a boutique national security consultancy with worldwide operations, FRDA provides specialized solutions to agencies of the US Intelligence Community, military Special Operations Forces, and other national security partners. The Instructional Designer will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining training content for our Department of Defense (DoD) clients. This role requires collaboration with team members and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure that all training materials are accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with technological and operational developments. The Instructional Designer will be responsible for creating a variety of training materials, including lesson plans, student workbooks, practical exercises, and examinations. The position also involves the integration of these materials into a Learning Management System (LMS), specifically Moodle. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing interactive training aids, such as simulations and group projects, that reinforce key learning objectives. Additionally, the Instructional Designer will collaborate with instructors to ensure they have the necessary instructional aids to deliver content effectively. This role may also include other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the training programs offered by FRDA. Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain training materials including lesson plans, student workbooks, practical exercises, examinations, and other courseware materials as required.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure all course materials are accurate and up-to-date with technological and operational developments.
  • Develop, maintain and manage both online and in-person training materials with integration into Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Design interactive training aids such as simulations, group projects, and practical exercises that reinforce key learning objectives.
  • Collaborate with instructors to ensure they are equipped with the instructional aids necessary to deliver content effectively.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience designing and developing Levels 2 and 3 multimedia training solutions using Articulate Storyline that are 508 and SCORM compliant.
  • Experience with all phases of the ADDIE process.
  • Experience with Moodle and LMS.
  • Proficiency in multimedia development tools, prototyping software, and e-learning authoring tools, such as Articulate Storyline.
  • Current US Government SECRET security clearance with ability to obtain a TOP SECRET.
  • Willingness to work on-site in the Fayetteville, NC area.
