About the position

The Instructional Designer at Business International Inc. is responsible for developing training materials and curriculum for adult learners, particularly in the context of social services programs. This role involves researching and evaluating case management software to create effective learning materials, collaborating with various stakeholders, and ensuring the quality of training content through quality assurance checks. The position requires a strong understanding of instructional design principles and the ability to deliver training in various formats, including in-person and virtual sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop training materials and curriculum for adult learners.
  • Research and evaluate case management software to translate functionality into learning materials.
  • Assist with scheduling and preparing for quality assurance checks on training materials.
  • Collaborate with training developers and subject matter experts to ensure effectiveness of training materials.
  • Design and deliver computer-based training using instructional design principles.
  • Create interactive and engaging course content using dynamic instructional training materials.
  • Lead training sessions in various formats, including in-person and virtual.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide recommendations for continued training participation.
  • Provide feedback on learning curriculum and methodology to ensure relevance and comprehension.
  • Manage processes for classroom training, including facility management and student registration.

Requirements

  • Experience in curriculum design and developing training materials for adult learners.
  • Strong understanding of social services programs.
  • Experience with Learning Management System (LMS) technology such as Moodle, XML, and HTML.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in business analysis and instructional design.
  • Familiarity with software such as Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, Photoshop, and Visio.
  • Ability to develop interactive media presentations for online education.
  • Strong communication skills in oral and written form.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5 years of experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • 5 years of experience with MS Office Suite.
