About the position

The Instructional Designer at Eastern Kentucky University will provide expertise in instructional design to enhance the delivery of academic programs and faculty training. This role involves supporting faculty in developing face-to-face, hybrid, and fully online courses, utilizing pedagogical strategies and instructional technology to meet learning objectives. The position requires a regular on-campus presence as part of a hybrid working schedule, with specific arrangements approved by the Director of the Instructional Design Center.

Responsibilities

• Apply learning theory and best practices of instructional design to partner with faculty in developing courses.
• Identify, plan, and implement instructional projects in coordination with subject matter experts.
• Develop and deliver professional development workshops on instructional technology and pedagogical strategies.
• Provide support and troubleshooting for the Learning Management System (LMS).
• Develop resources and support faculty in using instructional technology for various course formats.
• Conduct literature reviews to stay current with trends in the Instructional Design field.
• Complete other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Education, or a related field.
• 2 years of experience in course or curriculum design, preferably in higher education.
