About the position

The Instructional Designer will create engaging learning activities and develop course content to facilitate effective knowledge acquisition for mobile crisis care teams. This role involves collaboration with subject matter experts and the application of instructional design theories, utilizing multimedia and authoring tools to enhance learning. The designer will support the rollout of mobile crisis initiatives, ensuring training materials align with state and federal guidelines and meet the needs of diverse communities.

Responsibilities

  • Create engaging learning activities and develop course content for mobile crisis care teams.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure training materials are relevant and effective.
  • Apply instructional design theories and adult learning principles in course development.
  • Utilize multimedia and authoring tools to enhance learning experiences.
  • Support the rollout of mobile crisis initiatives by developing aligned training materials.
  • Ensure training materials meet state and federal guidelines and the needs of diverse communities.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of instructional design theories, practices, and methods, including adult learning principles.
  • Proven ability to create engaging and accessible course content and activities.
  • Expertise with Articulate Storyline, Captivate, or similar authoring tools.
  • Experience using JavaScript to customize and enhance functionality (preferred).
  • High proficiency in multimedia tools and technologies for creating visual and audio elements.
  • Technical proficiency in LMS, including content upload and user support.
  • Experience developing SCORM-compliant content for LMS integration.
  • Strong collaboration skills with subject matter experts and stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field, or equivalent professional experience (minimum of 5 years).
  • Experience in developing training materials for mental health, public health, or behavioral health.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in instructional design for diverse communities.
  • Familiarity with state and federal guidelines related to mental health training.
