About the position

The Instructional Designer at Colorado State University Pueblo plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of online learning experiences. Reporting to the Associate Dean of Adult Learning, this position involves collaborating with faculty to analyze instructional outcomes and apply instructional design techniques to develop and deliver high-quality courses across various platforms. The role emphasizes the integration of innovative learning technologies and adherence to compliance and accreditation standards, ensuring that educational offerings meet the diverse needs of students.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze instructional outcomes and provide expertise in planning, development, and delivery of learning experiences.
  • Design and deliver professional development in online/hybrid instructional strategies.
  • Maintain relationships with academic and administrative departments for online course development.
  • Assist faculty in converting courses to effective online formats and pilot converted courses.
  • Build new courses and maintain existing ones, supporting the Banner integration process.
  • Problem-solve IT issues and develop curriculum with faculty subject matter experts.
  • Collaboratively work with the Associate Dean and instructional design contractors on curriculum design and assessment.
  • Develop and provide training and support to faculty on best practices in online course development.
  • Collaborate with various departments regarding compliance and accreditation requirements for online courses.
  • Assess educational innovations and respond with modifications to processes and opportunities for program growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, online education, or equivalent field.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and enterprise information systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • 2-5 years of instructional design experience in developing online, mobile, and instructor-led courses.
  • Experience with eLearning technology platforms and learning management systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in instructional design or educational technology.
  • Quality Matters Certification.
  • Knowledge of instructional design models, strategies, and best practices.
  • Experience in accessibility, usability, and experience design.
  • Strong written and interpersonal skills.
