About the position

The Instructional Designer will be a key member of the Learning and Innovation team, responsible for creating engaging and effective learning experiences tailored to a diverse audience. This role requires a strong background in instructional design principles, experience with online learning platforms, and a commitment to high-quality educational content.

Responsibilities

• Apply instructional design theories, models, and best practices to develop interactive and engaging learning experiences.
• Design and develop a variety of instructional materials, including online course content, presentations, videos, assessments, and job aids.
• Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure the accuracy, functionality, and effectiveness of learning content against design and functional standards.
• Collaborate with partners in learning sciences, academics, and technology to implement enhanced learning solutions.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that deadlines are met and project goals are achieved.
• Engage with cross-functional teams to implement learning design and accessibility best practices.
• Leverage strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with customers and team members, gather feedback from stakeholders, and foster productive cross-team relationships.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3-5+ years of proven experience in instructional design and development of online courses, preferably in a higher education setting.
• Strong understanding of instructional design principles and learning theories.
• Expertise in digital and learning design accessibility best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and concisely.
• Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working in a learning management system (LMS) in an elevated role, such as content developer or administrator.
• Experience working in a client-facing role providing high-quality customer service in a professional environment.
• Passion for new technologies and education.
