About the position

Our client, a leading Tax Software and Payment Solutions company, is hiring an Instructional Designer for a 6 Month Contract opportunity Hybrid in Plano, TX. The Instructional Designer will be responsible for utilizing up-to-date knowledge and skills associated with analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of training programs. This role requires the designer to access and use expert resources to create effective training materials tailored to the audience's needs. The designer will be expected to flexibly adjust program designs to ensure they are applicable for the specific audience, which may include designing and developing Technology-Based Training (TBT) and instructor-led training (ILT) packages based on thorough data collection and analysis. The position demands a commitment to working flexible hours to support the development and delivery of workshops, which may exceed the typical workday. The Instructional Designer will consistently exhibit a positive outlook and collaborate in a highly engaged manner with other team members. Maintaining focus to achieve results and meet deadlines for multiple projects is crucial. The designer will develop expertise in instructional design process methodology, which includes analyzing the audience and job tasks, developing curriculum maps, storyboards, flowcharts, performance objectives, testing strategies, and learning activities. Regular communication with development stakeholders is essential to ensure the successful implementation of projects. The designer will also be responsible for soliciting feedback from peers, staff, and managers, applying this learning to enhance their own performance and capabilities. Additionally, the role involves learning how to utilize metrics to manage and assess deliverables, utilizing internal processes, tools, and systems for on-time delivery, and seeking guidance for prioritization and review of deliverables. The Instructional Designer will confidently articulate the value of training and make training recommendations to Sales Leaders that address their specific business needs, as well as present training KPIs and training impacts to the sales organization.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize up-to-date knowledge and skills associated with analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of training programs.
  • Access and use expert resources to design and develop training materials.
  • Determine audience needs and flex program design to be applicable for the particular audience.
  • Design and develop Technology-Based Training (TBT) and instructor-led training (ILT) packages based on data collection and analysis.
  • Work flexible hours to support the development and delivery of workshops, which may exceed the typical workday.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of work experience in adult learning/education design and development, instructional design, or a similar capacity.
  • Demonstrate the ability to conduct end-to-end analysis for learning needs.
  • Demonstrate the ability to design performance-based courses aligned to identified objectives and target population characteristics.
