About the position

The Instructional Designer plays a crucial role in the NCOVR Office of the Director by coordinating, documenting, and implementing educational materials and outreach initiatives. This position focuses on developing and promoting educational programs for various stakeholders, including North Carolina residents and healthcare providers, while providing technical assistance to local health departments and private providers. The role emphasizes the creation of effective training resources through webinars, visual aids, and in-person programs to enhance public health education.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating and documenting educational materials and outreach initiatives.
  • Develop and promote educational programs for North Carolina residents and healthcare providers.
  • Provide technical assistance to local health departments and private providers.
  • Support training needs through webinars, visual aids, and in-person programs.
  • Manage the production and distribution of educational content to ensure timely delivery.
  • Work with subject matter experts to gather and verify information for instructional materials.
  • Promote educational initiatives through various channels, including social media and community events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to write and edit instructional materials ensuring technical accuracy and clarity.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design principles and development of learning aids.
  • Proficiency in developing Standard Operating Procedures for educational content.
  • Experience in managing educational content production and distribution.
  • Skilled in collaborating with subject matter experts for accurate instructional materials.
  • Knowledge of emerging trends in instructional design and technical writing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in content management platforms such as SharePoint.
  • Experience with design tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate Storyline, or Captivate.
