About the position

The Instructional Designer at AmeriGas is responsible for managing and developing training programs and curriculum to enhance employee skills and knowledge. This role involves applying adult learning theories and instructional design practices to create engaging and effective learning experiences, including in-person, virtual, and eLearning formats.

Responsibilities

• Create project plans and recommendations for training projects, including timelines and methodologies.
• Identify learning objectives and evaluate the effectiveness of training methods.
• Develop and design instructor-led training (ILT), virtual instructor-led training (VILT), and eLearning modules.
• Create immersive educational experiences through learning activities and assessments.
• Write scripts for video and audio content.
• Create storyboards, style guides, and templates for training programs.
• Evaluate courses and virtual learning environments for necessary changes.
• Ensure learning materials are accessible, including closed captioning and appropriate design.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop training content.
• Edit and maintain eLearning modules and troubleshoot issues with the LMS.

Requirements

• A degree in instructional design, education, or a related field.
• 3 - 5 years of experience in instructional design or a similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design (ADDIE).
• Experience with Articulate 360 (storyline and rise).
• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems, particularly SAP SuccessFactors.
• Proficient in Microsoft tools, especially PowerPoint.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in creating accessible learning materials.
• Knowledge of visual design principles for learning materials.
