About the position

The Instructional Designer at Apollo Technology Solutions LLC is responsible for conducting training needs assessments, designing and developing instructional materials, and creating engaging online training content. This role involves collaboration with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure that training programs meet organizational goals and learner needs. The position requires proficiency in various eLearning authoring tools and a strong understanding of instructional design principles, particularly in creating accessible and effective learning experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough Training Needs Assessments and Audience Analyses to identify learning objectives and performance gaps.
  • Design and develop comprehensive, 508-compliant instructional materials, including course summary sheets, learning objectives, course outlines, storyboards, video scripts, job aids, and quick reference sheets.
  • Create online, interactive training materials in various formats, such as printable job aids, instructor-led (virtual and in-person), microlearning, videos, and eLearning courses.
  • Generate program interactive, SCORM-compliant webinars, microlearning, and full-length eLearning courses using eLearning authoring tools.
  • Develop and administer a variety of assessments, including quizzes, tests, simulations, and practical exercises, to measure learner progress and comprehension.
  • Analyze assessment data to evaluate the effectiveness of instructional programs and make data-driven recommendations for enhancing learning outcomes.
  • Accurately track and document the progress of instructional design projects, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Utilize project management tools to monitor timelines, resource allocation, and deliverables, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather content and ensure the accuracy and relevancy of learning materials.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand learning needs and objectives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Periodically review and update curriculum and existing training content to ensure accuracy and relevancy.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in instructional design and adult learning theory.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Instructional Design, Education, Training and Development, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Proficiency in eLearning authoring tools (e.g. Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia).
  • Experience with SCORM-compliant course development and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Strong understanding of 508-compliance requirements and best practices for creating accessible learning materials.
  • Expertise in designing and developing comprehensive instructional materials, including course summary sheets, learning objectives, course outlines, storyboards, video scripts, job aids, and quick reference sheets.
  • Ability to create online, interactive training materials in various formats.
  • Experience in developing and administering a variety of assessments and analyzing assessment data to evaluate instructional program effectiveness.
  • Strong understanding of instructional design models (e.g. ADDIE, SAM).
  • Proven ability to accurately track and document project progress.

  • Proficiency in using Workday for creating, managing, and delivering training programs.
  • Experience in leveraging Workday's Learning Management System (LMS) capabilities.
