The Instructional Designer at the University of San Francisco (USF) plays a crucial role in enhancing the educational experience for both faculty and students. The Instructional Design team is dedicated to supporting full-time and adjunct faculty in designing or redesigning their courses and instructional strategies, utilizing research-based best practices across various instructional formats, including face-to-face, hybrid, HyFlex, and online synchronous and asynchronous instruction. This team is part of the Educational Technology Services (ETS) department within Information Technologies Services, which also encompasses Learning Spaces Engineering, Instructional Technology and Training, and Media Services. As an Instructional Designer, you will collaborate closely with faculty members to create inclusive and engaging teaching and learning experiences. This involves integrating instructional design principles, learning theories, and effective educational technologies. You will manage or assist in the management of course design and development for multiple courses each semester, ensuring that they meet the university's quality and compliance standards. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include developing and conducting faculty development training, partnering with faculty to align course outcomes with assessments, and overseeing the production of multimedia course content. In addition to direct course design support, the Instructional Designer will engage in faculty development initiatives, working alongside the Instructional Design team and other ETS colleagues to provide programming that promotes effective instructional strategies and the use of educational technologies. This may involve organizing workshops, creating educational resources, and participating in events such as the USF Ed Tech Expo. The role also includes contributing to special projects and resource development as needed, making it a dynamic and impactful position within the university's educational framework.
