The Instructional Designer is responsible for the design, development, and support of engaging learning activities across various modalities. This role involves collaborating with business stakeholders to manage learning projects that align with business needs. The Instructional Designer acts as a subject matter expert in learning management systems (LMS) and reporting, ensuring that all learning materials are effective and meet the required standards. The position requires a comprehensive understanding of instructional design methodologies, particularly the ADDIE model, which includes Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. In this role, the Instructional Designer will conduct thorough needs assessments to identify learning objectives, target audience characteristics, and performance gaps. They will design comprehensive curriculum materials, including lesson plans, learning activities, assessments, and multimedia resources. The development of clear and concise instructional content tailored to the needs of the target audience is crucial, ensuring alignment with learning objectives and instructional strategies. Quality assurance is also a key function, as the designer will conduct reviews to ensure the accuracy, functionality, and effectiveness of instructional materials. Additionally, the Instructional Designer will be responsible for designing formative and summative assessments to measure learning outcomes and evaluate the effectiveness of instructional interventions. Project management skills are essential, as the designer will manage instructional design projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget constraints, and quality standards.
