About the position

The Instructional Designer position at Booz Allen offers a unique opportunity to develop training that will significantly impact national security. In this position, you will collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), instructors, and learning technologists to assess training needs and recommend appropriate learning solutions. Your focus will be on learner-centered design, ensuring that the training experience is engaging and effective. You will work closely with multimedia specialists, graphic artists, and technical SMEs to develop training materials that adhere to instructional design methodologies. Your creativity and technical skills will be essential in developing innovative learning experiences, whether in a classroom setting or through digital platforms. You will also be responsible for recommending advanced learning strategies, such as blended learning and gamification, to enhance the learning environment. Communication will be key as you engage with various stakeholders throughout the design process, incorporating feedback to refine your training solutions. To measure the effectiveness of your training, you will utilize evaluation methodologies like the Kirkpatrick Model, allowing you to analyze results and make necessary adjustments for maximum impact. This role also provides an opportunity for leadership development, as you will mentor others and identify new opportunities to meet customer learning needs. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with SMEs, instructors, and learning technologists to assess training needs.
  • Design creative learning solutions centered around the learner's experience.
  • Develop training materials in partnership with multimedia specialists and graphic artists.
  • Recommend advanced learning strategies, including blended learning and gamification.
  • Utilize evaluation methodologies to analyze training effectiveness and make adjustments as needed.
  • Mentor and share expertise with team members to enhance overall instructional design capabilities.
  • Identify new opportunities to build solutions that meet customer learning needs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in instructional design using adult learning methodologies.
  • Experience designing instructor-led and web-based training.
  • Knowledge of accessibility and usability standards in adult learning solutions.
  • Ability to analyze course content from various sources to develop effective learning solutions.
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design.
