About the position

The Instructional Designer at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will support the Center for Transformative Teaching (CTT) by providing consultations on teaching, course design, and technology for various learning environments. This role emphasizes collaboration with faculty and other instructional designers to implement innovative teaching strategies and enhance student learning experiences. The position aims to foster a diverse and inclusive work environment that respects and values differences among staff and students.

Responsibilities

  • Provide teaching, course design, and technology consultations to faculty for in-person, blended, and online learning environments.
  • Collaborate with other instructional designers to implement CTT priorities, programs, and initiatives.
  • Implement evidence-based teaching strategies for successful and inclusive student learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with program, college, and other University units on projects that advance teaching innovation and excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, educational technology, curriculum and instruction, or related field.
  • At least one year of experience in teaching, instructional design, educational technologies, course development, or related areas.
  • Experience working with learning management systems and course design and development.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and team collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of learning theories, instructional design, and inclusive pedagogy.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in instructional design, educational technology, curriculum and instruction, or related field.
  • At least two years of experience in teaching, instructional design, educational technologies, course development, or related areas.
  • Experience within a post-secondary environment.
  • Successful experience with project management and multimedia development.
  • Experience with development in Canvas LMS.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of one or more specialist pedagogies or Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL).
  • Proficient using communication and presentation technologies such as Zoom, PowerPoint, and lecture capturing software.

Benefits

  • Full-time position with a minimum salary of $50,000 per year.
