About the position

The Instructional Designer at Intuitive Surgical will be responsible for designing and developing critical learning programs aimed at enhancing the skills of Intuitive's customers. This role involves creating eLearning modules, instructor-led training, technical product videos, and assessments, focusing on the clinical and technical aspects of Intuitive's products. The position requires collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and the multimedia team to ensure engaging and effective training content that adheres to adult learning principles.

Responsibilities

  • Project manage all phases of multiple learning deliverables including analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Proactively communicate task and project status to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and scope deliverables based on content and needs analysis.
  • Work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify content needs and develop relevant materials.
  • Craft sound and measurable learning objectives and contribute to curriculum maps.
  • Design and develop engaging training content that meets learning objectives and adheres to adult learning principles.
  • Collaborate with the multimedia team to create or modify media assets for instructional needs.
  • Manage review cycles with multiple SMEs and implement feedback effectively.
  • Conduct peer review and quality assurance of deliverables.
  • Participate in the evaluation of learning content using qualitative and quantitative methods to drive improvements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in instructional design.
  • Comprehensive experience in designing and developing eLearning, instructor-led training, assessments, and blended learning solutions.
  • Demonstrated application of adult learning theory and assessment best practices.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience collaborating with SMEs and other Instructional Designers.
  • Ability to self-manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1-2 years of experience in a biotech or medical device organization.
  • Master's degree in Curriculum Development or Instructional Design/Technology.
  • Proficiency in Smartsheet or equivalent tools.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud.
